Who we are
My name is Mark Nendick. I’m a husband and father of three, originally from North Vancouver and now living in one of the most beautiful valleys of BC’s interior. My story is one of struggle, resilience, and growth—and it’s what drives me to help others create real change in their own lives.
At 23, I faced a crippling anxiety disorder and turned to alcohol as a way to cope. It took years of hard work to turn my life around, but when I did, I knew I wanted to dedicate myself to helping others create lasting change in their own lives. I changed trajectory of my life when I prioritized my health and then started PFN Coaching to support others to do the same.
For more than 10 years, I’ve been coaching and have had the privilege of working with hundreds of people. My focus is on lifestyle transformation and ultrarunning—two paths that completely reshaped my life and continue to inspire me every day.
I believe that change is possible for anyone, no matter where you’re starting from. I’m excited to connect with you, learn about your goals, and grow together. Maybe this resonates with you. Let this be your starting point.
Accomplishments
My Running Journey:
My running career started almost out of necessity. One day I went out for a short 5 km run, pushing my daughter’s stroller, and found myself sweating profusely. In that moment, I knew something had to change. That simple run became the spark for a new lifestyle.
From there, I slowly began building my fitness. I progressed from 5 km runs to half marathons — eventually running a fastest time of 1:29:30 — and then on to full marathons, with a personal best of 3:19. Along the way, I discovered a deep love for trail running.
From the Road to the Mountains:
My first ultra was the 50 km Dirty Feet race in British Columbia. That experience lit a fire that continues to this day. Since then, I’ve pushed my limits across some of the toughest endurance events:
The Divide 200 – 200 miles through the Crowsnest Pass, Alberta
The Canadian Death Race – 125 km in Grande Cache, Alberta (completed twice)
Fatdog 120 – Manning Park, British Columbia
Fatdog Last Man Standing – completed 28 laps in this endurance elimination format
The Dark – a unique ultra in the underground mine shafts of Blairmore, Alberta
Plus many other ultras and endurance challenges that continue to shape me
Always Looking Ahead
Over the years, I’ve cultivated a growth mindset. Every time I reach a goal, I look toward the next challenge — not just to push my physical limits, but to grow further as a person.
